Creating Connected Brand Experiences for Outdoor Brands

Creating Connected Brand Experiences for Outdoor Brands

Overview

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to design for some of the most recognizable names in the outdoor and winter sports industry. From national advertising campaigns and product catalogs to retail environments and promotional displays, the work required translating each brand’s personality into experiences that could live across very different physical and editorial environments. The common thread was always the same: create a strong visual story, maintain brand consistency, and make the product impossible to overlook.

Design Objectives

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to design for some of the most recognizable names in the outdoor and winter sports industry. From national advertising campaigns and product catalogs to retail environments and promotional displays, the work required translating each brand’s personality into experiences that could live across very different physical and editorial environments. The common thread was always the same: create a strong visual story, maintain brand consistency, and make the product impossible to overlook.

CAMPAIGN STORYTELLING: Creating a Campaign That Reached the Ski Community
For Marker USA, I developed a series of print advertisements designed to create a consistent campaign presence across Powder, Ski, and Freeskier magazines. Each execution worked as part of a larger visual campaign while delivering a strong, standalone message within the editorial environment. The work required balancing product communication with the energy, attitude, and visual language of the ski culture surrounding the brand.

Telling the Product Story: Catalog Design

Völkl + Rossignol

Catalog design became an opportunity to translate the energy of the outdoor brand into a highly structured product experience. Working across product photography, typography, editorial layouts, specifications, and merchandising information, I designed catalog pages that balanced inspiration with clear product communication. The goal was to create an experience that felt editorial and aspirational while still making the product easy to understand and navigate.

Different Brands. Distinct Visual Languages.

My role required working within established brand standards while adapting layout, typography, photography, and product hierarchy to the Rossignol brand's personality.

PROJECT IMPACT

In each of the various projects, it was my intention to tell the story of the brand through experiencing the designs I created.

From Product Brand to Physical Environment

Dynastar (owned by the Rossignol Group) has a partnership with Snowbird, located in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. We were asked to create graphics for their rental shop storefront as well as their General store called General Gritts.

Rossignol Graphics created in celebrating their 100 year anniversary. Graphics were large banners created for the Deer Valley Resort’s Yurt.

outcome

Across catalogs, promotional signage, and retail environments, the work extended established outdoor brands into multiple customer touchpoints while maintaining a cohesive visual presence. Each piece was designed to serve its specific purpose while contributing to a larger, recognizable brand experience.
